The man who founded Nilfisk-Advance, P.A. Fisker, started as an electrical engineer who really liked to work on electrical motors. After establishing his company during 1906, he started to make motors to drive machine tools, drills, coffee grinders and fans. Mr. Fisker's dream from the beginning was to have an international company advertising merchandise internationally.

The Nilfisk C1 was a tremendous breakthrough for the cleaning industry. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed just 17.5 kilos and could be operated by one person. This creation came in a time where other cleaning machines were very big and needed 4 or more operators, thus, the Nilfisk C1 changed everything and developed the method we clean forever. The brain behind these first cleaning machines remains unparalleled. Cleaning machines provide an excellent solution to an existing problem; stuff get dirty and need to be cleaned frequently, without a lot of effort.

Slowly but steadily, Nilfisk-Advance developed through the years. In the nineteen eighties, this development actually occurred when the business became a part of the NKT Group. Their new owners' drive and focus made Nilfisk-Advance take a huge leap forward within the business, aiming to be among the biggest universal players in the market of professional cleaning machines.
